About the Initiative

Built by students who believed education could be different.

Scholars for All started with a simple conviction: that the cost of tutoring should never be the reason a student falls behind.

Our Story

How it started.

Scholars for All was founded on a simple observation: academic tutoring, is often priced out of reach for students who need it most. Market-rate tutoring can cost upward of $60–100 per hour, which, although valuable, is not a feasible option for many families.

The founder, Ayan Pendharkar, decided to try something different. Sessions would be offered at a fraction of typical rates. Additionally, every dollar earned would be donated.

Originally, only the founder was involved. However, over time, we built a rotating basis of mentors, each bringing in expertise in a different subject area. Together, they held over 100 sessions, reached students across grade levels, and raised $2,000 for charitable causes.

The initiative closed in March 2026. This site stands as a record of the impact of what a small community of students was able to build.

“The most important thing was just proving that this could be done. That students could run something like this, and run it well.”

Our Philosophy

Why affordability was non-negotiable.

Access

No student was ever turned away due to cost. Pricing was deliberately set below market rate to ensure sessions were genuinely accessible.

Charity

The decision to donate 100% of proceeds was made at the start and never revisited. It removed any ambiguity about what the initiative was for.

Student-led

Every decision: pricing, outreach, and scheduling, was made by the students running the program. If we wanted to do this, we had to go all in.

What we learned

Consistency is its own kind of achievement.

One of the quieter lessons we learned from running this initiative was how much consistency matters. Not every session was transformative. Not every session was perfect. But showing up, week after week, definitely added up to something real.

The fact that we raised $2,000 for charity through individual tutoring sessions, each modestly priced, is proof that meaningful impact should never require a large institution or a formal nonprofit. It only requires passion, consistency, and dedication.
