What we offered

Scholars for All provided one-on-one academic support across multiple subject areas. Sessions were priced well below market rate as a matter of principle, not circumstance.

Still want to get involved?

You can still submit a form to volunteer as a tutor or to request tutoring. Note that operations are closed — we are no longer actively matching students and tutors, so responses may not come through.

Pricing Philosophy

Affordability is never a compromise.

Most tutoring services charge $50–100 per hour. Scholars for All charges a fraction of that. After all, the entire point of the initiative is accessibility.

Pricing is structured to be genuinely achievable for students and families across income levels. No student has been turned away because of cost. Adjustments are made on a case-by-case basis if necessary.

Session Structure

How a typical session works.

01

Topic review

Each session begins with a quick review of where the student is currently at. Recent tests, current assignments, and specific sticking points all worked to give the tutor a clear picture of how to best support the student in that moment.

02

Targeted instruction

Tutors work through specific concepts, problems, or writing with the student. We place a big emphasis on actually explaining the reasoning process, not just providing an answer.

03

Independent practice

Sessions close with the student working through problems independently, making steps to actual mastery over the topic.
